Benjamin Kinney only wanted to spend a weekend camping with his two best friends (Christopher Dunham & Jonathan Lane), but on their first night, a group of militants ambush their camp and chase them into the forest. Lost with no sense of direction, they try their best to make it back home alive. They meet three girls (Cassidy Weaver, Nicole Weaver, and Taylor Swanson) who go to the same college as them as they run for their lives from a grizzly bear and try to help them.
They discover a massive pyramid in the middle of the woods. Hoping there might be an archeologist inside who can give them some direction, Ben and Jon venture into what could be more danger. They encounter a living Pharaoh who tells them exactly where they. They are stuck in a different dimension called Omnia and have been chosen to fight evil with supernatural powers as the Guardians of Omnia. The only way for them to return home is by destroying the Darkness to reopen the portal.

The Guardians are still trapped in Omnia even after facing the Darkness in the first book. They have split up (Ben having gone off with Jonathan to find what kind of trouble they can get into while Chris sticks with Cassidy, Nicole, and Lauren.) This book kicks off with an intense fight between Chris and the manifestation of fiery natural disasters, Caleo (the Fire Catastrophe). Even with Taylor, Nicole, and Lauren (the newest Guardian, the Guardian of Lightning)'s help, they are no match for the Catastrophe. And there are five Catastrophes.
The Guardians also struggle in their effort to track down the Darkness again and find their missing friend (Courtney, who helped them lay low in the first book) because the Guardians are outlawed in the Omnian society because their predecessors failed to defeat the Darkness. Chris does his best to save people and not get arrested doing so. Our heroes face nature's dark side (a tsunami, a hurricane, a volcano erupting, and even a lightning storm!)
Guardians will die in this book.

The Guardians are STILL stuck in Omnia, and they just got beat BAD by the Darkness. Jonathan comes to on the verge of dying and sees a supercharged Darkness menacing over his dead friends. The Guardian of Water has no hope of surviving much longer, even with Ben (the Guardian of the Mind) still standing. The end of days is upon the Guardians, and it will take all of their strength just to have a slim chance at beating the Darkness.

Dear Whoever-Is-Reading-This
A group of nobodies are hired by a NOBODY author to promote his books that aren't selling because nobody wants to read them because let's face it, nobody reads anymore. It's just swipe, swipe, swipe while you're taking a poop. The average attention span these days is a joke. I bet goldfish have longer attention spans now. Oh how the tables have turned. They probably insult each other by saying another fish has the attention span of a human.
Anyway! We get hired to help this nobody author try to become a somebody in the "Golden Age of Social Media" . We just want to get rich and famous and not die trying. It would help if Kyle the Goofy Cowboy talked faster! Dude almost gets me killed so many times. I crap my pants in the first chapter when he almost obliterates my car!
I think you've got the idea. This book is ridiculous. You should definitely read it and then relentlessly tell your friends to read it too.
